MICROMO Entry-Level Inside Applications Engineer - Open Position

MICROMO is now seeking candidates for a new open position, in the role of an entry-level inside applications engineer.


  • Develop and maintain good relationships with customer contacts. Respond to inquiries for pricing, technical support, sizing and selection assistance and application assistance for all FAULHABER and partner products sold in North America.
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities for FAULHABER and partner products at OEM accounts. Respond to inquiries from and follow-up on quotations prepared for OEM accounts.
  • Provide customers with prompt, courteous and competent service. Follow-up on all customer inquiries and requests. Document communications and activities involving opportunities in the MICROMO CRM system.
  • Assist Account Managers in business development activities at large OEM accounts. Coordinate information and support needed from personnel in other departments and other FAULHABER Group companies and partners.
  • Coordinate customer and opportunity-related activity with members of other MICROMO departments as required (includes configuration/design control, design engineering, logistics/production planning, procurement, manufacturing, marketing, and finance).
  • Support Account Representatives, Account Managers and other FAULHABER Group personnel on technical issues as required. Support responsibilities include but are not limited to, definition, clarification and analysis of customer requirements, product sizing and selection calculations, application specific modeling of product performance, technical proposals, quotations, presentations, product datasheets, specifications for product features and options, customer drawing reviews, RMA’s and customer corrective action requests.


  • Bachelor Degree in Mechatronic, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • This entry position requires 0-3 years of experience in the application and/or design of DC motors, servo motors, drives and electronic motion controls.
  • Knowledge of coreless brush DC motors, brushless motors, stepper motors, linear motors, piezo motors, spur gearheads, planetary gearheads, actuation systems, PWM drives and motion controllers.
  • Ability to read and understand most mechanical and electrical engineering content on customer drawings.
  • Ability to develop a thorough understanding of all product specifications and sizing and selection equations.
  • Engineering or design experience in medical, aerospace or defense applications is highly desirable.
  • Ability to travel in the North America and Europe a minimum of 3-5 days per month.
  • Good time management and organization skills. Verbal and written communication skills in English. Computer skills: advanced proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States.
