MICROMO’s Machine Shop – Saving Time and Money in the Pursuit of Innovation

With the 5000 square foot  machine shop at its Clearwater, Florida facility, MICROMO can tailor most of the components in its $9 million dollars worth of onsite inventory to meet custom requirements. In addition to highly trained staff and the standard array of machine tools, the shop features:

  • Two Mori Seiki CNC milling machines
  • A twin-spindle Mori Seiki CNC lathe with c-axis capability for milling and drilling on both sides of the workpiece
  • A Micro Vu Multi Sensor measuring machine
  • A RAM optical coordinate measuring machine
  • Specialized tools and holding fixtures can be made for testing and to insure assembly accuracy.

If you’ve designed a machine around a product from some other vendor and want to try a MICROMO replacement, the machine shop can alter our units to fit your existing configuration so that you can sub them in for comprehensive testing. After acceptance, you can redesign your machine for MICROMO products, you can leave your design unchanged and let the machine shop continue to adapt parts for you, or you can do both.  With any option, you save money on new builds while continuing to support your customers in the field with modified replacement parts.

Above all, the machine shop truly powers MICROMO’s Express Prototyping program. Supported by our dedicated team of application and design engineers, our skilled machinists will work with you on your project, going through as much iteration as necessary to get the prototype right. We will provide input on such aspects as design for manufacturability.  Most importantly, our captive machine shop means your plans will never leave the premises. Once the design is finalized, the project can either be passed to our factories or continued at the ISO-9001and ISO-13485-certified Florida facility.
