Brakes for DC Motors

MICROMO's brakes are permanent magnet, single face brakes for use with our DC Motors. Braking takes place when the motor is in an unpowered condition. The brake acts as a holding brake preventing rotation of the shaft at standstill or with the motor power turned off. MICROMO recommends the application of lower voltage to the brake after it has been energized for the purpose or reducing heat loss. The DC Motor brake is not recommended for braking a rotating motor shaft. The DC Motor brakes may only be assembled with motors at MICROMO.
